2010 Golden Grain Cotton Festival



Saturday September 4th 10.30am
"Golden Grain Cotton Festival - Moree Clay Target Club Open Day"

Once again the Moree Clay Target Club will be conducting a "Try Shooting" day at the club grounds on Mosquito Creek Road. Members of the public will be given instruction in safe handling of firearms before having a go at breaking a clay target. This presents a great opportunity to try the sport in a safe and controlled environment under the supervision & control of experienced club members and coaches.

Saturday September 19th  11.00am
"Golden Grain Cotton Festival - Rockdale Garden Luncheon"

The Rockdale Garden Party will once again be held as a daytime function, commencing at 11.00am, to avoid the cooler evening's of September.
There will be a BBQ lunch and Bar facilities available as well as wine tasting by Wooolaway Wines with a selection their range of fine wines available for consumption on the day from the Lions Bar. Entertainment and a Fashion Parade presented by the Golden Grain Cotton Festival Princess entrants amidst the magnificent gardens of Edna Hardman's home, "Rockdale".
This will be a "Must Do" afternoon, so mark it on your calendar and bring along your family and friends for what will be a memorable occasion at what is arguably one of Moree's most beautiful locations.


Saturday September 25th
"Golden Grain Cotton Festival - Parade"

This years Golden Grain Cotton Festival Parade will pass down Balo Street. The parade is proposed to commence at 11.00am in Heber Street adjacent to Chester Street, passing down Heber Street and turning into Balo Street, with the balance of the route to be advised.


Friday & Saturday October 1st & 2nd
"Laser Vision Light Show"

This is a Healing Waters Festival Event with Moree Lions Club providing BBQ and Cold Drinks as part of their Golden Grain Cotton Festival fund raising activities.


Saturday October 9th 3.00pm
"Golden Grain Cotton Festival - Spider on the Gwydir Rodeo"

Spider on the Gwydir Rodeo at the Showground from 2.00pm


Thursday November 4th - Ladies Bowls Night

The Ladies Bowls evening followed by a light supper. Nominations can be made at the services club 2 - 3 weeks before the event.


Friday November 5th - Mens Bowls Night

The Mens Bowls evening starting with an indoor BBQ dinner from 6.30pm. Nominations can be made at the services club 2 - 3 weeks before the event.


Sunday November 7th
"Golden Grain Cotton Festival - Charity Clay Target Club Shoot"

Friday November 12th
"Golden Grain Cotton Festival - Gala Ball"

At the Max Centre.


Sunday November 28th
"Golden Grain Cotton Festival - Charity Golf Day"

Golden Grain Cotton Festival - Charity Golf Day will follow the usual format, with a 4 person ambrose event, teeing off at 7.30am, for more details please contact Lion John Atkins at Raine & Horne Moree.
