President's Annual Report


36 members belonged to the Club in June 1963. Sadly Lions Lady Wilma Bell and Lions Hilary Smith and Bill Thompson died during the year. Fellowship was shared with the other service clubs and the other Lions Clubs. The Apex/Lions Bowling day was a great success. 31 money raising functions were conducted and £1,600 was raised and donated to 40 different causes. A Grand Piano was presented to the War Memorial Education Centre at a cost of £537.

4 exchange local children with 4 from Lane Cove enjoyed a weeks holiday. The Club helped with three door knock appeals and with the help of £80 donation from Lions Ladies. Delegates attended the 11th Australian Convention in Melbourne. Lucky envelopes raised £571, mud trials £202, Professional Tennis Tournament £154, Street Carnival £71, Kindergarten Carnival £78, Diggers Race Meeting £145, Showground Carnival £381 and Garah Sports £60. Donations included Royal Far West Cot Fund, Mission School Christmas Party, Scouts, Schools, Schoolboy Football, Tennis Association, Flood Relief, Polio, Spastic Centre and Projection Screen for Aboriginal School.
