2,000 man hours were spent on various projects. The Club assisted the Municipal Council, the P&C Association, the Road Safety Council, the Kindergarten School, Civil Defence, Boy Scouts, Alcoholics Annonymous and the School Boy Football League. The Golden Grain Carnival and the Talkers and Storkers Ball raised $2,100 which was all given to the Moree Hospital to establish a Pathology Unit.
The North West County Council donated old power poles to the Club which were cut up for the wood drive and delivered to pensioners. A White Elephant Auction was held which raised $180. An elephant race was held with Jim Foster and George Mills acting as jockeys. The event raised $54.
The Club held a Garden Party at Wilga in aid of the Gwydir Handicapped School and raised $540. Lucky envelopes raised $680 for the year.
The annual exchange of 6 children with Lane Cove was held. Playground equipment valued at $2,255 was donated and erected in Kirkby Park.
The Golden Grain Princess was Denise Shearer. The winning float was entered by the Preschool. The procession went to the showground where the floats paraded around the outside of the ring and the Carnival was held in the Centre.
The Club also ran a swimming carnival during the year.
