President's Annual Report


Six new members were inducted and two old members returned to the Club. The Secretary, Gary Ryan, was transferred and Lion Billie Johnson took over until illness forced him to give the position up.

Nine Princesses contested the 'Queen of the Golden Grain' contest which was won by Gay Gough sponsored by the Ambulance. The Boughton Park Oval project was commenced with the material needed for the outside fence at hand at a cost of $1,100 to have such a fence constructed would cost $4,000. The East Moree Scout Hall was re-floored by Lions members. The Show gates were manned by Lions for the first time. Lucky envelopes sold well and helped the annual commitments of about $600. Five contestants in Youth of The Year won by Rowan Pearse. A road safety contest was conducted. Fifteen Lions and Lions Ladies attended the Convention at Taree and nine Lions and Lions Ladies attended the MD Convention at the Gold Coast and the Lions Ladies donated $175 for the convention fund. Apex won the bowls again.
