President's Annual Report


A busy time and many trips to Mungindi for the formation & Chartering of the Mungindi Lions Club. This year saw the first Charity Princess in the Golden Grain Carnival. The golden Grain Princess was Barbara Keam & Charity Princess was Kathy Reid who raised $1,025. At the completion of the procession a storm hit and washed out the Carnival. A Band competition was held in the Civic Centre and a Ball held to complete the Golden Grain Carnival week.

An exciting fishing trip was held at Boomi with the Raymond Terrace Lions, who were not impressed by the snake population.

The Steam Engine and Picnic Table was installed at BP Park. Work continued on lighting for Boughton Oval & the show gates were again manned.

The usual annual donations were distributed, the yearly projects, a wood drive and a pensioners dinner were held and assistance for flood relief was given.
